The short version

Bucket List Run Club is a free, non-commercial community site for people obsessed with iconic runs. We collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time.

What we collect

  • Your account. Email address and password (stored encrypted by our hosting provider), plus anything you add to your profile: nickname, photo, location, bio, bucket list run, proudest achievement, favourite gear and your Strava, ITRA or UTMB links.
  • What you contribute. Run nominations, hats (upvotes), race reports, Strava or trip-report links, hat reactions, and runner spotlight questionnaire answers.
  • Basic technical data. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to keep the site running and secure.

Cookies and analytics

We use a cookie to keep you signed in — that one is essential. We do not run advertising trackers or sell profiles to anyone. Any usage statistics we look at are aggregated counts of page visits, not individual browsing histories.

What is public

Anything you publish is meant to be seen by the community: nominations, reports, links, hats and published runner spotlights, along with the profile details you fill in. Your email address is never shown publicly. Spotlight questionnaire answers stay private until we review them and you appear on the site.

Who else sees it

We share data only with the providers that run the site for us (hosting, database and authentication). We do not sell or rent your data. If you post a Strava or website link, that site has its own privacy rules — follow the link at your own discretion.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and contributions for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your profile, photo and personal details. Community contributions such as run nominations may stay on the site in anonymised form so pages other members rely on do not disappear — tell us if you would rather we removed them too.

Your choices

You can edit or clear most of your details yourself on your profile page. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or full deletion. Just email bucketlistrc@life-sparring.com and we will sort it out.

Kids

The club is meant for people aged 16 and over. If a younger runner has signed up, let us know and we will remove the account.

Changes

If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and the date at the top.
